“Christmas Gathering” – Biscayne at CityView – Saturday December 3rd from 1:00 PM – 4:00
The DCGC is serving 400 Families at Biscayne Apartment Complex! This event gives the entire city of Houston an amazing opportunity to join in arms and help us in volunteering as well as donating!
We are already super EXCITED to be partnering with Texas A&M University FLIC Team, YWAM Houston Ministries, several businesses and more.
The day will start by cleaning up our community that is still under construction/restoration due to the floods back in April. Due to the floods the DCGC has decided to stay on location and offer the community “extended long term care disaster relief”. The flood did a massive amount of damage to several apartments in Greenspoint and long term we are looking at a year to two years before we are fully recovered and the DCGC is so honored to be able to stay and help out in any way that we can.
We will send out teams of 5-10 with wheel barrels, brooms and trash bags to clean up trash and debris around the apt complex, then head back to the tennis courts and meet up with the other team. We will then begin handing out ONE Christmas Grocery Bag, of either a Turkey or Ham, and a bag of groceries stuffed with Christmas goodies to make their family a Christmas dinner for the residents/families of the Biscayne Community!
- DCGC desires to give a TURKEY/HAM and a bag of GROCERIES to around 400 families in our community, BUT in order to make this possible WE NEED YOUR HELP!
- WE CAN NOT DO THIS WITHOUT THE HELP OF ALL OF YOU IN HOUSTON AND AROUND THE WORLD!
Donations Needed for 400 Christmas Grocery Bags filled with:
- LARGE paper bags
- Turkey/Ham (frozen)
- Mashed potatoes
- Potatoes in bags
- Sweet potatoes (canned)
- Corn & corn bread
- Canned cranberry sauce
- Green beans
- Salad mix in bags
- Cake mix (box)
- Any other donations you would like to give
During the Month of December/January, the DCGC would like to start having family gatherings at the tennis courts so that we can all get to know each other and become a culture of community. And what better way to do this than at Christmas time! We are desiring to decorate the tennis courts and be able to have that as our gathering spot on the weekends. We are needing several donations to make this possible so if you would like to donate or get involved there is a list of donations below and you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
- Christmas twinkle lights OF ALL SIZES and colors
- Zip ties ALL SIZES
- 100 foot extension cords

- Bails of Hay (10-20 for temporary usage)
- Blankets to lay on the bails of hay

DCGC would love to gather with all of the Biscayne Community and their family and friends at night on the tennis courts and sing Christmas songs, roast marsh mallows and hot dogs, enjoy some hot chocolate, pray and Worship and enjoy time together getting to know one another under the twinkle lights.
