The Dream Center Gulf Coast is a volunteer-driven organization that is designed to find and fill the needs of the people in Houston.

When the City of Houston cried out for an organization to bring aid to its people 24/7, Dream Center Gulf Coast stepped in and stepped up.  As a local community-driven organization, designed to find and fill the needs of the people in Houston, Dream Center Gulf Coast became a mobile Dream Center, in full operation daily, as we seek for a facility that meets all our needs, and to ensure that we are answer the immediate cries for help. Being a mobile Dream Center does not limit our services, nor the demands of Houston, in fact it increases the access, to strategically meet the demands of the people. The needs of the people in Houston are being heard. With hearing must come the answering. Dream Center Gulf Coast is an inner city resource, with influence and modelling from The Dream Center, in Los Angeles, California, that brings hope and restoration to the broken, those in need, those that need temporary help conquering their “mountains”.

Dream Center Gulf Coast addresses immediate and long-term needs through our vision of:

  •  Mobile hunger relief
  •  Adopt-a-Block outreach programs
  • Medical programs
  • Residential rehabilitation programs for adults and at risk youth
  • Shelter for victims of human trafficking
  • Transitional housing for homeless families
  • Foster care intervention programs
  • Job skills training
  • Life skills
  • Counseling
  • Basic education, and more

We work to meet people where they are, to bring them hope, a way out of poverty, to build a their family and community, to provide through resources a way off the streets. At the core of our mission and vision is the desire to be the premier inner city resource for the City’s at-risk population, creating a Christ based safe place — driven to relieve the City’s already heavily burdened social services community and improves the target area locations by fostering positive and holistic neighbor-helping-neighbor philosophies. Dream Center Gulf Coast builds a community of resilient people whose lives have been redeemed and restored by God’s love. Every person we help, will share that love with others, to pass on the hope they have been given by Dream Center Gulf Coast, showing that physical transformation IS possible for others in the City of Houston, that the Dream Center Gulf Coast brings the reality of “Changed Lives”.

At the core of our mission and vision is the desire to be the premier inner city resource for the City’s at-risk population — a drive that invariably relieves the City’s already heavily burdened social services community and improves the target area locations by fostering positive and holistic neighbor-helping-neighbor philosophies.

Isaiah 65:24  Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.

Luke 14:23  And the Lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

Below is a “vision list” of programs the Dream Center will be offering to Houston.  Being that we are looking for a facility to house the Dream Center Gulf Coast the majority of these programs will come at a later time, however we are STILL a Dream Center without the building and we will be proceeding with ADOPT-A-BLOCK as our first program in Houston.

ADOPT-A-BLOCK:

This is the heart of the Dream Center Gulf Coast. Going out and serving the community in any way possible. On Adopt-a-Block you’ll go along with us to a community to clean, sweep, paint, minister, pick up trash, visit, build relationships, pray and do whatever we can to show the love of Christ. Our goal is to let people know that we are here to help them in any way possible.

FOOD BANK:

By operating an onsite cafeteria and delivering bagged groceries to some people in need, seven days a week. Single mothers, families living below the poverty level, and the elderly are the primary recipients. This program will help to alleviate hunger in some of the most impoverished communities in Houston.

HOMELESS OUTREACH:

Our mission is to reach, without prejudice, to the homeless community. Our goal is to provide meals to those living on the streets, under bridges, and in the shelters of our city. We will use the meals as a tool to draw large crowds of people so that we can effectively and lovingly share God’s love with those that we serve and meet on the streets. We also will give clothes to those in need. We will offer to pray with them and listen to their stories. Some of the people want to talk, others don’t. Some of them want us to pray for them or their families, others politely say no. So we pray and minister with those that will allow us, and we pray for those that won’t allow us. Our mission is to help lead these people one person at a time into a better life by leading them into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ with the help of the Holy Spirit.

RESCUE AND RECOVERY FOR HUMAN/SEX TRAFFICKING:

We will offer a nurturing and secure location with programs and services to address the specific developmental, physical and psychological needs of  people.  Restoring and rebuilding the shattered lives of children and adults rescued from commercial sexual exploitation and forced labor.

The Dream Center Gulf Coast will be working with local law enforcement to help people escape abuse and receive a fresh start in life.  Through viable networks with law enforcement agencies and community-based organizations, The Dream Center will be taking the first important steps toward establishing tangible methods and techniques to effectively deliver, heal, and restore the effects human trafficking has on its victims.

FOSTER CARE INTERVENTION:

We believe that no child should be taken away from loving parents because of poverty. We will be building relationships with the Department of Family and Children’s Social Services to receive family referrals from social workers on a weekly basis. We will go out and deliver food, clothes, furniture, beds, appliances, baby supplies, and anything else that these families need in order to keep their children. More importantly, to build relationships with these families with the hopes that one day they will come to church and accept Jesus into their hearts.

FOSTER CARE RELIEF / AGED OUT FOSTER CARE:

The Dream Center Living Foster Care Relief Program provides furnished suites for young single men and women between the ages of 18 and 21 who have aged out of the Foster Care System.  A dedicated group of staff will provide a loving, Christ-centered environment in which the youth can thrive in learning life skills, obtain education, access to legal aid and health assistance if needed.

MISSION STATEMENT

Dream Center Gulf Coast purpose is to reconnect isolated people to God and a community of support by providing human services that address immediate and long-term needs in the areas of homelessness, hunger, poverty, addiction, education, and human trafficking.

To reach out to people and show them the incredible potential we believe lies within the lives of at-risk youth, the homeless, and the needy families of our community by restoring hope and allowing them to dream again.

We believe there is raw, untapped talent all over the world, in nations, states, and in every community. Our passion and plan is to create a Christ based safe place where anyone can come and perform music, dance, art, whatever it may be, and expose/share their talent. It is so important to help people identify their gifts and talents, to show them that God has them here for a purpose. To go further to teach them how to use those gifts to bless their generation; to raise up leaders who will awake and impart a continuum of the heartbeat of this ministry to their generation and the next.

Isaiah 58:9-14  Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.

“If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk, and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings. “If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and from doing as you please on my holy day, if you call the Sabbath a delight and the Lord’s holy day honorable, and if you honor it by not going your own way and not doing as you please or speaking idle words, then you will find your joy in the Lord, and I will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights of the land and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob.”

The mouth of the Lord has spoken.
